Scott Rogers, SAG Hawaii National Board Representative
Scott has been a member of SAG and AFTRA for over 30 years. In 1994, after living and working in Los Angeles for more than 25 years, Scott moved to Hawai`i with his wife, actress Jeanne Bardwell, in order to raise their two children in a safe and sane environment. They opened The Academy of Film (www.AmericanFilmActor.com) in 2000 to train actors for film and television. Scott served as acting coach for 20th Century Fox Studios under a 3-year, exclusive contract. He still serves as acting coach on many of the film and television projects that shoot in Hawai`i (some $150 to $200 million worth of production shoots in the islands, each year), and has been an outspoken advocate for actors for the last ten years. He is a SAG National Board Member, serves on the national Financial Core Task Force, and is chair of the SAG Conservatory for the Hawaii branch. Scott supports a single union for actors because, in his words - "United we'll stand, divided we'll surely fall. If we had merged years ago we would obviously be much better off today." |
